FAQ

What is the difference between “password” and “master password” in PDF security?

Question

What are the meanings of “password” and “master password” on the PDF security setting screen.
What’s the difference?

Answer

Fleekdrive’s PDF security allows you to use two types of passwords.

Password

This is the password for opening the PDF document.

A password must be entered for PDFs downloaded from the space where the password is set.

Master password

Administrators can use the PDF security feature to impose restrictions on printing, editing, copying, and so on.

The master password allows users who know the password to change those restrictions in the PDF.

It can also open a PDF file that set a password and master password with master password only , but in that case, all restricted permissions will be granted.
